Create with your hands
Handbuilding is ceramics without the wheel. You shape the clay directly with your hands and simple tools, at an unhurried pace with plenty of time to explore.
We work through basic techniques such as pinch, coil and slab and help you create your own ceramic piece.
No previous experience is needed.
Children aged 6 and over are welcome to participate together with an accompanying adult. The accompanying adult does not need to book a separate place if they are only there to supervise. If the adult would also like to participate in the workshop, a separate place must be booked.
Up to 1 kg of clay is included.
Additional clay is 100 SEK per kilo.
If you have a large project in mind, we recommend booking more than one workshop session on the dates and times that suit you.
How it works
During the three hour workshop you work on your own project with guidance along the way. You might make a cup, bowl, small vase, candle holder or a form of your own. The important part is getting to know the material and finding your way of working.
After the workshop we take care of your piece in the studio. It dries slowly and is then bisque fired for you. Drying and bisque firing can take around 3–4 weeks.
When your piece has been bisque fired
- Leave the glazing to us. We glaze your piece using the dipping method with one of our selected glazes; this is included.
- If you want to decorate it yourself or choose another glaze, book our Decor & Glaze Workshop.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
Your booking applies to the date and time you selected.
A full refund is available for 14 days from the payment date. This does not apply if the workshop starts within those 14 days.
If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your place to another person. Please let us know the name of the new participant before the workshop.
